Our Projects: Traffic Management, Fabrication & Fleet Services

At TruGroup, we support contractors, councils, and businesses across Canterbury with practical, reliable solutions in Traffic Management, fabrication, and custom builds. These case studies highlight the work we deliver every day.

Custom Tailgate build for Corde

Our fabrication team recently completed a custom tailgate build for a CORDE tipper truck, engineered for strength, reliability, and day to day performance. Led by Sandi, the work involved grinding, welding, and precision drilling to produce a durable, well fitted tailgate built to handle heavy operational demands.

The finished build reflects the high standard of craftsmanship that defines TruGroup's workshop. Delivering a sharp, safe, and road ready solution tailored to the client's needs.

Chip Seal Traffic Management - Lyttleton St & Mountford St

Our team delivered a safe and compliant traffic management setup to support chip seal works on Lyttelton St and Mountford St, ensuring smooth operations for the Higgins crew through the day.

Led by Courtenay, our qualified STMS, the team managed the full site setup in line with the approved TMP or CCC Generic. This included PPE checks, pre-start assessments, and ongoing site inspections as the work zones shifted.

The result was a controlled, well-coordinated environment that kept traffic moving and crews protected. A reflection of strong teamwork, clear communication, and disciplined safety practice.

Flat Deck Build for Keith Andrews Trucks

Our fabrication team recently completed a custom flat deck build for Keith Andrews Trucks, designed for durability, functionality, and day‑to‑day performance. The build features a fully integrated tail lift and tow bar, engineered to support heavy use and provide reliable operation on the job.

As part of the final fit‑out, Kris, one of our in‑house mechanic/electricians, completed the electrical installation for the tail lift. His expertise ensured the system was wired, tested, and commissioned to a high standard, ready for immediate use.

The completed build delivered a clean, practical, and compliant solution tailored to the client’s operational needs, showcasing the combined skill of our fabrication and workshop teams.

Utilities Infrastructure NZ Ltd - Bespoke Transporter

UINZ needed a purpose-built transporter that could support their underground services work while keeping operations efficient above ground. They required something tough, practical, and tailored to their workflow.

UINZ's workshop manager, Dave, worked closely with TruGroup's design and fabrication teams to create a transporter that matched their exact needs. The process was collaborative and hands on, with regular check-ins and refinements along the way.

"We're stoked with our new purpose-built transporter. The process with TruGroup was collaborative, transparent, and top-level from start to finish. The final result is exactly what we needed, and we'd happily recommend TruGroup to anyone." - Jeff Sharp, Operations Manager, UINZ

7 Tonne Tipper for CORDE

CORDE partnered with TruGroup to develop a custom 7 Tonne Tipper that would support their operations across multiple industries. They needed a build that was durable, practical, and tailored to their long term fleet requirements.

TruGroup worked closely with CORDE's team to understand their business, the environments they operate in, and the specific functionality they needed from the tipper. Instead of supplying a standard build, the team designed a purpose built solution that aligned with their workflow and operational challenges.

"TruGroup took the time to understand our business and tailored the truck to our exact requirements. The whole process was seamless and professional from start to finish" - Tyler Forsyth, General Manager - Fleet & Group Operations, CORDE
